Technician Certificate in Community-Based Conservation

Objectives

This programme is designed for field operations, who will work in diverse natural resources management sectors with interests in community-based conservation including; government, NGOs, local communities, private companies and international agencies. In its development, the programme considered both national and international perspectives. It is designed to provide students a thorough understanding of the community-based conservation practises through field practical training in community conservation programs and protected areas. Hence, after completion of the programme, graduates would have acquired the necessary knowledge and skills to undertake community-based conservation initiatives in both private and public sectors.

Entry Requirements

Basic Technician Certificate (NTALevel 4) in Community Based Conservation, Captive Wildlife Management and Taxidermy, Wildlife Management, WildlifeTourism, Tourism Management,Tourism, TourGuiding Operations, Tourism Operations,Tourism Hunting, Tour Guiding, Beekeeping, Forestry, Tourism and Travel Operations, Wildlife and Law Enforcement, Fisheries, LivestockProduction, Agriculture Production, General Agriculture, Environment, Aquaculture Technology, Horticulture, Animal Health & Production, Zoology other wildlife related field
OR;
Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least one Principal pass and one Subsidiary in the following subjects Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Mathematics, Agriculture, History, English, Computer, and Nutrition, Commerce and Economics.
